Emailing Reports

There are number of methods you might use to send reports produced by Unanet through email.  Because of the Unanet architecture, one cannot just use the File/Send command available on many browsers.  Below are several methods you may consider:

Copy to Another Document Type

  1. Produce the Unanet Report

  2. Click the area (frame) where the Unanet Report is

  3. Select All by pressing Ctrl/A

  4. Copy by pressing Ctrl/C

  5. Open a new document (Excel or Word)

  6. Paste the Unanet Report by pressing Ctrl/V into the Excel or Word Document

  7. Send the Excel or Word Document

 

Copy the html source

  1. Produce the Unanet Report

  2. Do a right mouse click in the area where the Unanet Report

  3. Select the option to view the source in a note pad window

  4. Use the notepad window drop down to do a File/Save AS with the extension ".html"

  5. Send the saved html document

 

Note: Due to the use of style sheets, this method may result in a loss of formatting.  If the format of the report is critical to you, you may need to use the first method described.


Copy and send through an html formatted email

This option works with browsers where you can set the mail format.  Set the mail format to html (For IE 5 and above, this is Tools/Options/Mail Format).  The operating system also may not allow this.  Also, the receiver must be able to receive it.  MS Outlook works fine for receiving.

  1. Produce the Unanet Report

  2. Click the area (frame) where the Unanet Report is

  3. Select All by pressing Ctrl/A

  4. Copy by pressing Ctrl/C

  5. Open a new email message

  6. Paste the Unanet Report by pressing Ctrl/V directly into the email message

  7. Send the email message

Saving as .pdf

Current versions of Google Chrome includes a Print to PDF option without the need for additional software or a driver download.   3rd party downloads like pdf995, cutepdf, etc. can be used within other browsers such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.   Using this approach, you can save the output of a particular screen to a PDF format which can then be emailed..
